Art Work

Photoshop Digital Art

This abstract digital art was created through images online and pictures I had taken of random objects in my house that I re-colored, layered, and masked. The inspiration behind this piece was to create two distinct sides- one more abstract and free-flowing and with the other more rigid with sharp edges, concrete objects, and highlighted words. The viewer can create its own interpretation and meaning out of this piece.

Crimson Premonition Poster

This was a poster that I made for a video game project that I worked on. I wrote the content for this poster as well. I designed the concept of the poster to have elements of red as this was the company's color theme in the game. In addition, I added an element of paint that represents a blood-like style to the title of the game to represent the red dye which is a key symbol. The style, font, and background of the poster is made to feel a little scary but also bright and happy/red which is also a part of the narrative of the story in the game.

Notan Art

Line Drawing

This piece was created based on a photograph of the woods where I then converted the piece down to just different types of lines  to create an abstract looking artwork with a slight impression of "dancing' lines.

These two Notan Art pieces were created using paper, an exact knife, and glue where I strategically placed each piece to provide an element of symmetry as well as remain abstract.

Predator and Prey Painting Series

This series of paintings is based on a theme of Predator and Prey that I created using acrylic paints. I wanted to create an interesting, unique angled composition in each painting and have both creatures off-center to keep the viewer engaged.

Physical Installations

My idea was to create a bird nest with an extension of yarn and flowers made of yarn to imitate a branch with flowers extending from the nest. I made the nest entirely out of branches by stacking them out on top of each other for the sides and weaving them in and out to create a criss-cross pattern for the base of the nest. For the yarn piece, I knitted a long rectangular scarf-like piece of yarn to wrap around
the branch. I chose a gray color for the yarn as I wanted it to blend in and match the color of the branch as much as possible. Then, I crocheted flowers out of yarn to attach to the gray yarn piece. I wanted these flowers to somewhat also mimic the cherry blossoms so I chose pink for the flowers’ yarn. I placed these on the lower branch and installed the yarn/flowers around the branch with nails. The concept that I was trying to achieve with this piece was to take something from nature, make it into something else, and place it back into nature. I took branches from nature, created a nest-like structure, and placed it back onto a branch. The idea of the yarn serves the concept of trying to imitate nature with something that is clearly manmade. Together the yarn
piece and the nest serve as a cohesive piece with both pieces being man made and trying to imitate nature.

One of the main concepts that my project represents is to promote sustainability by having the leaf serve as an element of “preserving” the earth and each material of the coasterbeing reusable/sustainable. The coasters are also sustainable in the sense that they can also serve as a hanging decoration piece, coasters, and even possibly a game through the different tasks written on the back. In addition, this project also represents an intersection between manmade objects being combined with natural elements. Since I chose to make the theme of the project to be related to sustainability, I decided to use all reusable materials. I started by getting foam and cutting small pieces of the foam incircles. Then, I wanted to figure out a way to decorate the coasters in some way that also represents sustainability but also makes the coasters look nice. I then decided to use real leaves and stick one to each coaster. I collected different colors/sizes/shapes of real leaves outside from my backyard.
